There is a diving club in Mostar where men jump from the middle of the bridge after paying a fee and becoming a lifetime member. It is said that if you haven't jumped from the bridge no matter how old you are, you are not a REAL man. The tour guide told us that his girlfriend wanted him to jump to prove to her father that he could be a man and ask for her hand in marriage. He simple replied with he was all for women's rights and he would do it if she went first. Needless to say, they haven't married yet.
